ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a condition called supine hypertension, which is when blood pressure becomes too high while lying down. This issue often affects patients with a condition known as autonomic failure, making it challenging to manage their overall health, especially when they also experience low blood pressure when standing up. The study aims to see if using a device called continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), commonly used to help with breathing during sleep, can help lower blood pressure in these patients.
To participate in this trial, you must be between 65 and 74 years old and have been diagnosed with autonomic failure and supine hypertension. Unfortunately, individuals with certain serious health conditions, pregnant women, and medical students cannot join. If you are eligible and decide to participate, you can expect to receive CPAP treatment and be monitored for any changes in your blood pressure. This trial is currently recruiting participants and aims to find a safer way to manage high blood pressure in patients dealing with autonomic failure.
