ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, titled "Distress In CErvical Cancer Patients and Partners," is focused on understanding the emotional challenges faced by cervical cancer patients and their partners. Researchers want to find out why some patients experience high levels of anxiety, depression, and stress, while others do not, even after surviving their cancer diagnosis. They will look at various factors, including patients' age, health conditions, relationships, and even biological markers like hormones found in hair samples. Additionally, the study will explore how cervical cancer affects the emotional well-being of partners, including their worries and the quality of their relationship.
To participate, patients must be newly diagnosed with cervical cancer in stages I, II, or III, and be at least 18 years old. Partners of these patients can also join the study if they are over 18. However, individuals with cognitive impairments or those who cannot read or write in Dutch will not be eligible. Participants can expect to fill out questionnaires about their health and stress levels, and their overall quality of life will be assessed. This trial aims to provide valuable insights that could help improve the emotional support and care for cervical cancer patients and their loved ones.
