ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how swallowing function changes in patients with oral cancer, specifically those who have tongue cancer. The researchers want to better understand these changes using special imaging tests called videofluoroscopy (VFSS) and high-resolution impedance manometry (HRIM). This trial is currently looking for participants who are scheduled to have surgery for their oral cancer, specifically those who will undergo certain types of procedures that involve the jaw.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be adults aged between 18 and 75 who are set to have surgery for oral cancer and can safely undergo the specific procedures being studied. However, individuals with serious health issues like heart or lung diseases, those who are pregnant, or those who might have trouble following study guidelines would not be able to participate. If you join the trial, you can expect to undergo a couple of tests that will help the doctors gather important information about your swallowing ability before and after your surgery. This research aims to improve understanding and treatment for future patients with similar conditions.
