ClinConnect Summary
The Pilot Mobile Medical Unit Study for I'm Fully Empowered4Her is designed to explore how effective a mobile medical unit can be in helping women learn about and access a preventive treatment called Pre-exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV. The goal is to see if this approach can help women living in public housing become more aware of PrEP and make it easier for them to get the medical services they need.
To participate in this study, women must be at least 18 years old and currently living in Durham Housing Authority housing. However, women who are already taking PrEP, are HIV-positive, pregnant, or have certain mental health issues that prevent them from giving informed consent cannot join the trial. If eligible, participants can expect to receive information about PrEP and access services through the mobile unit, making it a convenient option for their healthcare needs. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to empower women by improving their health options and knowledge related to HIV prevention.
