ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a smartphone application can help women manage gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) during their pregnancy. GDM is a common condition that affects how the body processes sugar and can lead to complications if not properly managed. The trial will compare two groups of pregnant women: one group will use the GDM app to help them track their blood sugar levels and follow healthcare advice, while the other group will receive standard care without the app. The main goal is to see if using the app helps women follow their treatment plan better and improve their health during pregnancy.
To join the trial, women need to be diagnosed with GDM between their 13th and 34th week of pregnancy, be at least 18 years old, and be having a single baby. Women with pre-existing diabetes, those pregnant with multiple babies, or those without a compatible smartphone cannot participate. If you choose to take part, you'll be randomly assigned to either the app group or the standard care group, and you'll help researchers understand if this digital tool can make a difference in managing GDM effectively.
