ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding new ways to help people who are at risk of suicide, especially right after they leave the hospital. The study will test a method called "just-in-time interventions," which means that participants will receive timely support based on their current feelings of suicidal thoughts. The goal is to see how well these interventions work to encourage patients to use their safety plans—tools that can help them during tough times—and to understand how different factors might affect the success of these interventions.
To be eligible for the trial, participants must be adults who are currently in the hospital due to suicidal thoughts or behaviors and have access to a smartphone after leaving the hospital. They should also be able to speak and write in English. During the study, participants will answer questions about their thoughts on their smartphone several times a day, both while in the hospital and for four weeks after discharge. Based on their answers, they may receive helpful advice or resources tailored to their needs. Participants will also provide feedback on their experiences, which will help researchers understand if and how these interventions can be improved.
