ClinConnect Summary

**Summary of the Clinical Trial on Suicide Prevention for Veterans**

This clinical trial is focused on finding better ways to help Veterans who have thoughts of suicide. The researchers are testing a new online program that lasts about 40 minutes, which teaches coping skills to help manage emotional pain and distress related to suicidal thoughts. The goal is to see if Veterans who complete this online intervention experience fewer suicidal thoughts and behaviors compared to those who only receive regular health care visits. Throughout the study, the participants’ suicidal thoughts and actions will be monitored over one month.

To be part of this trial, participants must be Veterans aged 18 and older who have experienced suicidal thoughts in the past two weeks. However, those with active serious mental health issues, like untreated bipolar disorder or severe substance abuse problems, cannot join. If you or a loved one is interested, this might be a valuable opportunity to receive support while helping researchers understand how to improve suicide prevention for Veterans.
