ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how common acute kidney injury (AKI) is among children with cancer at the South Egypt Cancer Institute. AKI is a sudden loss of kidney function that can happen during cancer treatment, and if not managed properly, it can lead to serious issues. The researchers want to find out how often this happens in young patients who are being treated for different types of cancers, including blood cancers and solid tumors.
To participate in this study, children must be between 1 month and 18 years old and have a confirmed cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, children who already have long-term kidney problems or who are older than 18 at the time of diagnosis won't be eligible. While the trial is not yet recruiting participants, those who join will help researchers learn more about the risks of kidney injury in pediatric cancer patients, which could lead to better care in the future.
