Keywords

Electrophysiological Study Atropine Isoprenaline Supraventricular Arrhythmia Ablation

ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how two different medications, atropine and isoprenaline, can help doctors better diagnose heart rhythm problems, specifically arrhythmias. During a special test called an electrophysiological study (EPS), these medications are used to see how the heart conducts electrical signals. The goal is to find out which medication provides better information for doctors and helps improve patient outcomes.

To participate in this study, patients must be between 65 and 74 years old and have been recommended for an EPS according to heart health guidelines. However, individuals who have certain heart conditions, like previous episodes of serious arrhythmias or glaucoma (which is a condition that makes atropine unsuitable), cannot take part. While the study is not yet recruiting participants, those who join can expect to receive one of the two medications during their heart study, helping researchers understand which might be more effective for diagnosing heart issues.
