ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding how three specific tests can help assess the severity of symptoms in patients with a condition called Superior Semicircular Canal Dehiscence (SCD). This condition can cause issues with balance and hearing, and the researchers want to determine how effective these tests—called Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials, WideBand Tympanometry, and Electrocochleography—are in measuring how serious the symptoms are for patients.
To join the study, participants need to be between 65 and 74 years old, have a confirmed case of SCD on specific scans, and be able to read and understand French. They should also be stable in their symptoms, if they have any. However, those with other similar ear conditions or who have SCD in both ears are not eligible. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but once it starts, individuals who qualify can expect to undergo a series of tests to help researchers better understand SCD and improve care for future patients.
