ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring the use of virtual reality (VR) to help older adults in Quito, Ecuador, who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. The study will compare two groups: one group will participate in a low-cost VR mindfulness program designed to promote relaxation and well-being, while the other group will only receive a check-in phone call for support. By using VR, researchers hope to see if this innovative approach can effectively improve mental health among older adults.
To participate in this study, individuals must be Spanish speakers, have normal cognitive function or mild cognitive impairment, and be able to provide written consent. However, those with more serious cognitive issues, severe vision or hearing problems, or certain mental health conditions won't be eligible. If you decide to join, you can expect to engage with the VR program and share your experiences, contributing to valuable research that could benefit others in similar situations.
