ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how a scoring system used to assess recovery after anesthesia (called the Modified Post-Anesthetic Discharge Scoring System or PADSS) works at different times—specifically, 6 hours and 24 hours after surgery. The study focuses on patients who are having total knee replacement surgery at Thammasat University Hospital in Thailand. By comparing the scores at these two time points, the researchers hope to understand how recovery progresses and ensure that patients are safe to go home after their procedure.
To participate in this study, individuals must be between the ages of 18 and 85 and scheduled for a total knee arthroplasty on one leg using a specific type of anesthesia. They should also be in good overall health, as defined by a standard classification system. However, individuals who have allergies to local anesthetic drugs cannot take part in the trial. Participants can expect to have their recovery evaluated at these two different times to help improve patient care and safety after knee surgery.
