ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the connection between depression and anxiety in patients with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), which is a chronic autoimmune disease. Researchers want to understand how certain antibodies in the blood, which are markers of SLE, relate to the levels of depression and anxiety that patients experience. To do this, they will use self-assessment tools where participants rate their feelings of sadness and worry.
To be eligible for the study, participants need to have a confirmed diagnosis of SLE and be able to give their consent to participate. Unfortunately, if someone has another autoimmune disease besides SLE, they won’t be able to join. Those who participate can expect to complete some questionnaires about their mental health, and by doing so, they will help researchers learn more about how SLE affects emotional well-being. The study is currently recruiting patients of all genders, aged between 18 and 65.
