ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different ways to stabilize the ankle after certain types of fractures. Specifically, it's comparing the use of a surgical screw to fix the ankle joint either when the ankle is in a neutral position or when it is bent upward (called maximum dorsiflexion). The goal is to find out which method leads to better recovery and fewer complications for patients who have syndesmotic injuries, which are common with certain ankle fractures.
To participate in this study, you would need to be between 18 and 65 years old and have a specific type of ankle fracture (known as type B or C) that involves a syndesmotic injury. If you have other types of fractures or certain medical issues that might affect your recovery, you may not be eligible. Participants will undergo surgery and will be monitored to see how well they recover over time. This research aims to help ensure that people with these injuries receive the best possible treatment for their ankle function and overall health.
