ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of performing a supraclavicular brachial plexus block, which is a type of anesthesia used during surgery on the arm and hand. The two methods being compared are the "corner pocket" approach and a newer technique called the "parasagittal" approach. The goal is to see which method provides better results and fewer complications, such as the risk of a collapsed lung. The corner pocket approach is commonly used, but the new parasagittal approach may reduce some risks associated with the procedure.
To participate in this study, you need to be between 18 and 60 years old and have a scheduled elective surgery on your upper limb. Some people may not be eligible, including those who refuse to participate, have certain medical conditions, or are allergic to the local anesthetics used. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive either one of the two anesthesia techniques, and the results will help improve care for future patients undergoing similar surgeries.
