ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at two different surgical treatments for people with a condition called Syringomyelia, which is often linked to issues like spinal cord injuries or infections. The trial will compare a procedure called Subarachnoid-Subarachnoid (S-S) Bypass with another procedure known as adhesion lysis. The goal is to see if the S-S Bypass leads to better results, with fewer complications and an improved quality of life for patients.
To participate in this trial, individuals should be between 18 and 75 years old and have a history of spinal cord injury or infection, along with certain symptoms such as ongoing pain or worsening neurological issues. An MRI must show the presence of Syringomyelia related to their injury or infection. Participants can expect regular follow-ups for more than a year to monitor their progress. It's important to know that individuals with certain other conditions, like Chiari malformation or myelomalacia, won't be eligible for this study. If you or a loved one fits the criteria, this trial could offer a chance to explore new treatment options.
