ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how Chinese herbal treatments can help improve digestive issues in patients who have recently undergone weight loss surgery, known as bariatric surgery. The goal is to see if combining these traditional herbal remedies with modern surgical techniques can lead to better weight loss results and overall health improvements for patients.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be between the ages of 65 and 74, have a body mass index (BMI) of 27.5 or higher, and be preparing for metabolic bariatric surgery. They should also have specific health conditions identified by traditional Chinese medicine, such as Spleen Deficiency and Excess Dampness syndrome. Participants will have the opportunity to receive these herbal treatments, potentially benefiting their recovery process after surgery. It’s important to note that people with certain medical conditions, like diabetes or severe illnesses, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women, cannot join this trial.
