ClinConnect Summary
The Danish Region Midt Schizophrenia Cohort trial is studying schizophrenia, a serious mental health condition that affects how people think, feel, and behave. The goal of this study is to learn more about what causes schizophrenia and how it develops over time, particularly focusing on the impact of difficult childhood experiences and the immune system. Researchers are looking to recruit individuals who are newly diagnosed with schizophrenia or are at high risk of developing it, especially those who may also have issues with substance use.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be at least 15 years old and have received their diagnosis within the last three months. They also need to be able to understand and agree to participate in the study. If someone joins the study, they can expect regular check-ins over the next two years, including visits and online questionnaires to track their health and well-being. This research aims to gather important information that could help improve treatment and support for individuals with schizophrenia in the future.
