ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Lap Adhesiolysis in Intestinal Obstruction," is focused on comparing two surgical methods—laparotomy (a traditional open surgery) and laparoscopy (a less invasive technique using small incisions)—for treating patients with bowel obstructions caused by adhesions (scar tissue). The goal is to see if laparoscopy can be effectively used in emergency situations at Asyut University Hospital, helping patients recover faster and with less pain.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be at least 18 years old and have an intestinal obstruction specifically caused by adhesions. They should also be patients who have not responded well to other treatments. However, those with other causes of obstruction, certain serious health conditions, or who are in shock are not eligible. If you join the trial, you can expect to receive one of the surgical treatments and will be closely monitored by the medical team to ensure your safety and health during the process.
