ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a chronic autoimmune disease, affects the brain and behavior of children. SLE can cause inflammation and damage in various parts of the body, and many children with SLE experience neurological issues, such as headaches, mood changes, and seizures. The trial aims to better understand these neuropsychiatric symptoms, which can be challenging to diagnose.
To participate in this study, children must be diagnosed with SLE and be between 1 year old and 18 years old. The researchers will not include children who have other autoimmune diseases or neuropsychiatric disorders that are not related to SLE. Families who join the study can expect regular check-ups and assessments to help identify any neurological symptoms related to SLE. This research is important because it may lead to better diagnosis and treatment options for children affected by this condition.
