ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how different types of stitches used to close the abdomen after surgery can affect the healing process. Specifically, it compares a special type of stitch called Stratafix Symmetric to other common stitches. The goal is to understand how these stitches might impact the chances of problems such as the abdominal wall opening up (known as fascial dehiscence) or developing a bulge called an incisional hernia after surgery. The researchers will also consider other factors that might influence these outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be over 18 years old and have had surgery that involved an abdominal incision. However, those who are pregnant, have had previous hernia surgery, or had mesh used for closure during their initial surgery cannot participate. If you join the study, you’ll help researchers gather important information that could improve surgical care for future patients. The trial is currently recruiting participants, and both men and women are welcome to take part.
