ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how well a specific treatment helps people recover muscle function after experiencing facial paralysis, which can happen due to various reasons, including Bell's palsy. Researchers want to see if using a technique called electrostimulation, along with kinesthetic treatment (which involves physical movement exercises), leads to better recovery compared to just kinesthetic treatment alone. The study will take place at the UNNE University Kinesiology Service from 2023 to 2025, and it aims to help participants regain their ability to perform daily activities and improve their quality of life.

To be eligible for the trial, participants must have a medical referral confirming a diagnosis of facial paralysis, such as Bell's palsy, and they should not have received any prior physical therapy for this condition. However, people with certain types of facial paralysis, those with skin injuries that prevent the use of electrical treatments, or those who have had facial paralysis for more than six months will not be included in the study. Participants will undergo initial and final evaluations to track their progress, and all necessary precautions will be taken to ensure their safety and comfort throughout the trial.
