ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called the Brief Skills for Safer Living (Brief-SfSL), is studying a new program aimed at helping people who are experiencing thoughts of suicide. The researchers want to find out if this program is more effective than waiting for three months before starting the program. They will include 150 participants from across Canada, dividing them into two groups: one group will start the program right away, while the other will wait before starting. The main goals are to see if the program helps reduce suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety, and whether it improves quality of life after three months.

To be eligible for this trial, participants must have had thoughts of suicide in the past week and should have access to a computer or phone with a camera and the internet. They should also have an emergency contact available and not be receiving other psychotherapy at the same time. Participants will have their sessions recorded to ensure the therapy is delivered correctly. It's important to note that individuals who have trouble understanding English or have active psychosis cannot participate. This trial is currently not recruiting participants yet, but it aims to provide valuable insights into how effective the Brief-SfSL program can be in preventing suicide.
