ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well a new technology called ChatGPT-4 can help detect infections that may occur after colorectal surgery, specifically surgical site infections (SSI). Currently, infection control teams spend a lot of time manually checking patient records to find these infections, but this study is exploring whether using ChatGPT-4 can make this process quicker and more efficient.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be between 65 and 74 years old and have had elective colorectal surgery (which means the surgery was planned in advance, not an emergency). Unfortunately, those who had emergency surgery, had an infection when they underwent surgery, or have had a previous intestinal stoma (a surgical opening in the abdomen) are not eligible. If you qualify and choose to take part, you will help researchers understand if this technology can improve infection detection, potentially benefiting future patients.
