ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how safe and effective different surgical treatments are for people with hemorrhoids who also have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), such as Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis. Over the course of a year, patients across Europe who are scheduled for surgery to treat their hemorrhoids will be included in this study. The goal is to gather important information about the outcomes of these surgeries and to see if certain factors might influence how well patients do after the procedure.

To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of IBD when they undergo surgery for hemorrhoids. They should be planning to have specific types of surgeries for their hemorrhoids, like hemorrhoidectomy or laser procedures. However, people who have had previous surgeries for hemorrhoids or have active perianal disease at the time of surgery will not be eligible. Participants can expect to help researchers learn more about the best ways to treat hemorrhoids in IBD patients, which could improve care for many others in the future.
