ClinConnect Summary
This study is checking whether the Turkish version of a hand-disability questionnaire, called the Hand Disability in Systemic Sclerosis - Digital Ulcers (HDISS-DU), works well for people with systemic sclerosis who have digital ulcers. The researchers want to know if this tool is valid and reliable in Turkish, and they’ll compare it with two other measures of hand function and daily activities. About 72 adults with systemic sclerosis, treated at two Turkish universities (Pamukkale University in Denizli and Inonu University in Malatya), may be invited to participate. To join, you must be 18 or older, have a rheumatologist-diagnosed systemic sclerosis, be able to speak Turkish, and not have other conditions that would make testing unclear or difficult.
Participants will answer questionnaires about hand function and daily living. There is no experimental treatment involved—the study is observational and aims to validate the Turkish HDISS-DU. Evaluations are expected to be completed within about six months after ethics approval. If you join, your responses will help determine whether the Turkish HDISS-DU is a good, reliable tool for people with systemic sclerosis in Turkey. The study is led by Zülal TATAR at Pamukkale University.
