ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the impact of muscle loss, known as sarcopenia, on the outcomes of surgery for patients with colorectal cancer. Sarcopenia can lead to complications during and after surgery, making recovery more difficult. The researchers want to find out how common sarcopenia is among patients before they have their surgery and how it affects their recovery and overall health after the procedure.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have a diagnosis of colon cancer. You should also be having surgery at Mersin University General Surgery Department. Participants will be asked to provide information about their health and undergo assessments to evaluate their muscle strength and physical abilities. By joining this study, you’ll help researchers understand how muscle health influences recovery from surgery, potentially improving care for future patients.
