ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on improving suicide prevention efforts in rural schools in West Virginia. The study will adapt a program called the "NIMH Clinical Pathway," which helps identify young people at risk of suicide and provides them with support. The program includes screening for suicide risk, creating safety plans, and connecting youth with the right resources. Researchers want to understand how to best implement this program in school-based health centers by gathering feedback from parents, youth, and healthcare providers.
To participate in this study, youth must be receiving services at the school-based health centers and have parental consent. Participants should be able to communicate in English and give their agreement to join the study. The trial is currently recruiting young people aged 11 to 18 who are cognitively and medically able to take part. Those in state custody will not be included due to legal consent issues. Participants can expect to be involved in discussions about their experiences and help shape the way suicide prevention support is provided in their schools.
