ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the connection between neuropathic pain and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) syndromes in people who have Herpes Zoster, commonly known as shingles. Researchers want to understand how the pain experienced by these patients can be assessed using specific tools and how it relates to TCM diagnoses. The goal is to help create more personalized treatment plans for managing pain in shingles patients. The study will take place at Le Van Thinh Hospital in Vietnam and involve 80 adults who have been diagnosed with shingles and are experiencing neuropathic pain.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of shingles with associated neuropathic pain. They should not have any other chronic pain conditions that are unrelated to shingles or be undergoing treatments that weaken their immune system. Participants will be asked to provide consent and will undergo assessments to evaluate their pain levels and TCM syndromes. This research aims to improve pain management strategies for shingles, which can significantly affect a person’s quality of life.
