ClinConnect Summary
The "Bridge the Gap (BTG) - Black Youth Group" clinical trial is focused on developing and testing a new support program aimed at preventing suicide among Black youth. The main goal is to see if this group program can help reduce suicidal thoughts and behaviors while also increasing feelings of hope, positive identity, and support from family and friends. Participants will take part in a 10-week group intervention and will complete surveys before and after the program to measure its effects.
To join this trial, participants need to be between 12 and 17 years old, identify as Black or African American, and have experienced suicidal thoughts either currently or within the last month. It's important that both the young person and their caregiver agree to participate. However, those with severe mental health issues or certain medical conditions that might make it hard for them to understand the study materials cannot take part. This trial is not yet recruiting, but it’s an important step toward finding effective ways to support Black youth who are struggling with suicidal thoughts.
