ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a surgical method called the Desarda technique to treat complicated inguinal hernias. An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue pushes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles, and it can become trapped or obstructed, causing pain and other issues. The goal of the trial is to see how effective this technique is in managing these complicated cases, which can be more challenging to treat.
If you or a family member are over 14 years old and have a type of hernia that cannot be easily pushed back into place, you may be eligible to participate in this study. However, those with a history of recurring hernias or specific findings during surgery that indicate weak muscle tissue would not qualify. Participants can expect to undergo the Desarda surgical procedure and will be monitored for their recovery and outcomes. This trial is currently recruiting and is open to all genders. Your involvement could help improve treatment options for future patients with similar conditions.
