ClinConnect Summary
This study is looking at how well an online training program (called e-learning) helps prison staff learn to prevent suicide among people in prison. The training aims to improve their knowledge about suicide, change their attitudes and feelings about it, and boost their confidence in supporting prisoners who may be thinking about or showing signs of suicide. The researchers want to see if the training is useful and practical for prison workers in their everyday jobs.
If you are 18 years or older, speak Dutch, have internet access, and work at one of the participating prisons in Ypres, Merksplas, Bruges, or Mechelen, you might be able to take part. Participants will complete the online training and the study will look at how it affects their understanding and confidence around suicide prevention. This study is currently recruiting staff from these specific prisons, but not from other prisons. It’s a way to help improve safety and support for everyone in the prison community.
