ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called OASIS, is studying two different ways surgeons reconnect the bowel after removing part of the rectum in patients with rectal cancer. The goal is to see which method leads to better outcomes, including fewer complications and better bowel function after surgery. Doctors will collect information during and after the surgery to compare these techniques.
The study is open to adults aged 65 to 74 who need this type of rectal cancer surgery, regardless of gender. The choice of surgical method will be made by the surgeon based on their usual practice. If you join the study, your care will be closely monitored, and information about your recovery and how well your bowel works afterward will be recorded. This study is not yet recruiting participants but may be an option if you or a family member are facing this surgery in the future.
