ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Mapping Auricular Vagus Nerve Circuitry," is exploring how a noninvasive treatment that stimulates a specific nerve in the ear can impact the brain, stomach, and overall body functions. Researchers are looking to understand how this stimulation might help improve conditions like functional dyspepsia, which is a common digestive issue that causes discomfort or pain.
If you're an adult between the ages of 18 and 65 and have been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia, you may be eligible to participate in this study. During the trial, participants will undergo brain scans using a method called fMRI, which helps researchers see how the brain responds to the nerve stimulation. It’s important to note that anyone with a medical condition that would prevent them from safely undergoing an fMRI scan cannot join the study. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to research that could lead to new treatments for digestive issues.
