ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how genetics may influence the development of Barrett's esophagus (BE) and esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC), which are conditions that affect the esophagus, the tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach. The researchers aim to better understand how certain genetic factors contribute to these conditions and hope to use this knowledge to improve the way we detect, treat, and prevent them. By working together with various institutions, the team will conduct both laboratory and clinical research to find new ways to help patients at risk of these diseases.
To participate in this study, individuals must be 18 years or older or younger with parental consent, and they should either have a confirmed diagnosis of Barrett's esophagus or esophageal adenocarcinoma, or be family members of someone with these conditions. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to important research that could lead to better outcomes for patients with BE and EAC. They can expect to be involved in a supportive environment where their contribution could make a difference in understanding these serious health issues.
