ClinConnect Summary

The Personalized Environment and Genes Study (PEGS) is exploring how our environment and our genes work together to affect our health, particularly concerning conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and asthma. While we know that genetics play a role in these diseases, they only account for a small part of the picture. PEGS is designed to provide a better understanding of how our surroundings and lifestyle can influence our health, which is something we can change. The study looks at a group of people and collects a lot of information about their environment, along with detailed genetic data, to help researchers learn more about these interactions.

To participate in the study, you need to be an adult aged 18 or older and able to come to the research facility for visits and tests. If you are a woman, you should not be pregnant during the study. Participants will undergo a series of assessments, including completing questionnaires about their health and environment, and may also provide DNA samples. This research aims to create a valuable resource for understanding how our genes and environment work together, which could lead to better health outcomes for everyone.
