  • written informed consent from the patient or his/her legal representative
  • ventral hernia requiring elective surgical repair
  • Exclusion Criteria:
  • no written informed consent
  • 'hostile' abdomen; open abdomen treatment
  • contraindication to pneumoperitoneum
  • emergency surgery (incarcerated hernia)
  • parastomal hernia
