ClinConnect Summary
**Summary of the Clinical Trial: Antiretroviral Therapy for Acute and Chronic HIV Infection**
This clinical trial is studying the effects of two different types of HIV treatment for people who have recently been diagnosed with HIV. The standard treatment, called HAART, is compared to an intensified version known as mega-HAART. The goal is to see how these treatments affect the immune system and the amount of virus in the body when started during the early stages of HIV infection. This trial is particularly focused on a group of high-risk individuals in Thailand who are already part of another study called SEARCH 010.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a confirmed acute HIV infection as defined by specific tests. They will need to agree to start treatment and be able to attend follow-up appointments throughout the study. The research team will provide clear information about the trial, and those who have difficulty reading will receive assistance to ensure they understand everything. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to help improve treatment options for people living with HIV.
