ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is looking at how our genes may influence the risks of certain complications after heart surgery, such as irregular heartbeats (atrial fibrillation), heart attacks (myocardial infarction), kidney problems, and heart failure. Researchers are trying to find out if there are specific genetic traits that make some patients more likely to experience these issues after undergoing surgery.

If you or a loved one are planning to have heart surgery at Brigham and Women's Hospital or the Texas Heart Institute, you may be eligible to participate in this study, as long as you are willing to give your consent and are not currently involved in another drug or device trial. Participants can expect to provide genetic information, which could help doctors understand and potentially reduce the risks of these complications in the future. This study is actively recruiting patients of all ages, so if you're interested, it could be a great opportunity to contribute to important heart health research.
