ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different antibiotics, clindamycin and metronidazole, to see which one works better for treating abnormal vaginal flora in pregnant women who are at high risk for preterm labor. Abnormal vaginal flora can increase the risk of early delivery, so it's important to treat it effectively. The trial involves pregnant women over the age of 18 who have certain risk factors for preterm labor, such as having twins or a history of early deliveries.
If you qualify and join the study, you will be randomly assigned to receive either clindamycin or metronidazole. Throughout the trial, your progress will be closely monitored to see if the treatment successfully eliminates the abnormal flora and to check for any side effects. This research aims to help determine the best treatment option for pregnant women facing these challenges. If you have any allergies to these antibiotics or have received antibacterial treatment recently, you may not be eligible to participate.
