ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on understanding certain vaginal conditions, including vulvodynia (chronic pain in the vulva), recurrent fungal infections, bacterial vaginosis, and preterm labor. Researchers want to learn more about how specific proteins, immune system signals (called cytokines), and the balance of bacteria in the vagina may contribute to these conditions. By gathering and analyzing data from participants, the study aims to improve our understanding of these health issues and potentially lead to better treatments.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be healthy, non-pregnant women aged 21 to 75 who are attending their annual well-woman exam, or pregnant women in the same age range who are healthy or have a vaginal condition. Participants will be asked to provide consent and may undergo some assessments related to their health. It’s important to know that women under 21 or over 75, or those with certain medical conditions like uncontrolled diabetes or cancer, will not be able to participate. This study is currently recruiting, and your involvement could help advance knowledge about these common vaginal health concerns.
