ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the factors that can affect the health and recovery of patients undergoing heart surgery, particularly those surgeries that involve a machine that helps pump blood and oxygen during the procedure. The goal is to understand what contributes to problems patients might face right after surgery, such as complications or even death. By identifying these factors, the researchers hope to improve outcomes for future patients.
To participate in this study, individuals need to be at least 18 years old and have had heart surgery at UC Davis Medical Center between January 2001 and July 2013. This includes surgeries that used a heart-lung machine as well as those that didn’t. If someone is interested in joining, they can expect to provide information about their health and surgery experiences, which will help researchers learn more about how to enhance patient care in the future. It’s important to know that the study is currently recruiting participants, and both men and women are welcome to take part.
