ClinConnect Summary

The MOON Shoulder Instability trial is studying patients who are having surgery for shoulder instability, which can include issues like dislocations and recurrent shoulder problems. The goal is to find out what factors might lead to patients experiencing ongoing instability or needing further surgery after their initial operation. This study will involve patients of all ages (from 12 to 99 years old) who are undergoing different types of shoulder surgeries, except for certain conditions like rotator cuff tears or fractures.

If you participate in this trial, you will complete some questionnaires about your health and shoulder function before and after your surgery. You will be followed for many years after your operation—up to 20 years—so researchers can track how well you are doing. All participants will follow a specific recovery plan that includes wearing a sling and attending physical therapy to help with healing. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it welcomes anyone who qualifies under the inclusion criteria, regardless of gender.
