ClinConnect Summary
The Los Angeles Prospective GI Biliary and EUS Series is a clinical trial aimed at understanding the causes and management of problems related to bile ducts, pancreatitis, and certain types of cancer in the digestive system. The researchers will study various factors that might indicate the presence of bile duct stones and will gather information on how to best treat conditions like cholangitis (an infection of the bile duct), bile leaks, and gastrointestinal cancers. This study is particularly focused on helping underserved populations at the Los Angeles County and USC University Hospitals.
Anyone undergoing a specific procedure called endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at these hospitals can participate, as there are no exclusions based on age or gender. Participants will have their medical information and treatment outcomes recorded over time, which will help doctors learn more about these conditions and improve care for future patients. If you or someone you know is receiving treatment at these hospitals, this trial could be an opportunity to contribute to important research that may help others facing similar health challenges.
