ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how a special diet called the ketogenic diet affects children with seizures, especially those who do not respond well to standard treatments. The ketogenic diet is high in fats and low in carbohydrates, and it has been used for many years to help manage difficult-to-treat epilepsy. Researchers want to understand how this diet works and what the best ways are to use it.
To participate in the trial, children must have a doctor's recommendation for the ketogenic diet and must be able to follow the diet properly. They also need to have lab test results that show they can handle a high-fat, low-carb diet. However, children who cannot metabolize this type of diet or who may struggle to stick to the diet and keep accurate records will not be eligible. Participants will be part of a study that collects information on how the diet is affecting their seizures and overall health. This trial is open to children of all ages.
