ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how the vitreous gel in the eye, which can sometimes pull on the optic nerve head (the part of the eye where the optic nerve connects), may affect the diagnosis and monitoring of glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition that can damage the optic nerve, and the researchers want to understand if this pulling, known as vitreopapillary traction, might cause problems in how glaucoma is detected or treated. They hope to find out if this traction could hide changes in the eye that indicate glaucoma is getting worse, or even lead to complications like bleeding in the eye.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and either have glaucoma, are scheduled for a specific eye surgery called trabeculectomy, or are healthy with no eye issues. It's important to note that individuals with certain medical conditions, like diabetes or those who have had previous eye surgeries, cannot take part. If you join the study, you will be monitored closely to help researchers understand how vitreous traction affects glaucoma patients, which could lead to better diagnosis and treatment in the future.
