ClinConnect Summary
The "Genetics of Uveitis" clinical trial is studying the genetic factors that may play a role in uveitis, which is an inflammation of the eye that can affect vision. Researchers are collecting blood samples from patients diagnosed with uveitis, including those with specific types caused by infections, like toxoplasmosis or herpes. By examining the DNA from these samples, they hope to identify any genetic changes that could help us better understand this condition and its causes.
To participate in the trial, you must be at least 21 years old and have a diagnosis of uveitis or infectious uveitis. If you're unable to give consent or if it’s difficult to collect a sufficient blood sample from you, you won't be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to have a simple blood test that helps researchers learn more about the genetics of uveitis. This could ultimately contribute to better treatments and understanding of the disease in the future.
