ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how exercise affects certain muscle conditions known as metabolic myopathies, which often cause symptoms like muscle pain and weakness during physical activity. Researchers want to understand how the body responds to exercise by measuring substances in the blood after exercise and comparing these results to information gathered from muscle biopsies (a small sample of muscle tissue) or genetic tests. The goal is to see if the exercise test can provide important insights for diagnosing these conditions.
To participate in this study, individuals aged 18 to 26 who have been referred for a metabolic exercise test at Brest Hospital may be eligible, as long as they can give their informed consent. However, those who cannot safely undergo exercise testing due to specific health reasons or who are pregnant cannot take part in the trial. Participants can expect to undergo a controlled exercise test while medical professionals monitor their response, which will help improve understanding and management of metabolic myopathies.
