ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial, called "Sensory-Motor Rehabilitation Post Stroke," is studying a new way to help people recover after having a stroke. When someone has a stroke, they may have trouble moving parts of their body and may not be able to feel things as well as before. This study is testing a wearable robot designed to help patients regain movement and improve balance and walking abilities. The goal is to start this therapy early, during the first months after a stroke, when the brain is more likely to adapt and heal.
To join the trial, participants should be between 18 and 80 years old, have experienced their first stroke within the last year, and have some difficulty moving their ankle. However, those with very mild ankle problems or certain medical conditions that make it hard to exercise will not be eligible. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive the robot therapy or standard care, and they will have the opportunity to see if this new approach can enhance their recovery. This study is currently looking for volunteers, so if you or someone you know is interested, it may be a great opportunity to contribute to stroke recovery research.
