ClinConnect Summary
The Pain Predict Genetics trial is a research study aimed at understanding how our genes might affect our experience of pain after surgery. Researchers believe that certain genetic factors could help predict whether someone will develop acute (short-term) or chronic (long-term) pain after undergoing major surgery. By identifying these genetic markers, the goal is to improve how healthcare providers can tailor pain management and treatment for individual patients.
To participate in this study, you must be between 18 and 80 years old and scheduled for elective (planned) surgery. If you decide to join, you'll be asked to fill out some questionnaires about your health and pain. This is a great opportunity to contribute to important research that could help improve pain care for future patients. The study is currently looking for volunteers, and all genders are welcome to participate.
